Day 1
seoul (incheon),south korea
Departure: 16:00
Incheon is an historically and economically significant place for Koreans. During the Korean War[2], the city was the site of the Incheon Landing[3] by American forces. Today, Incheon is a metropolitan city with the population of about 2.8 million, politically independent from Seoul. Also, the city serves as a transportation hub by air and sea, with a massive harbor and the world best international airport[4]. Several beautiful islands, such as Yeongjong Island and Ganghwa Island, are also within city limits. The status of the area is set to increase as various national projects are in development in Incheon. The New Songdo City plan, the most expensive real estate development in Korean history, will be finished in 2015. One of the world's tallest twin tower buildings, 151 Incheon tower[5], is under early construction and Korea's current tallest building, the Northeast Asia Trade Tower, is already finished. Incheon is planning to launch further independent mini-cities for shopping, housing, and education. Added to this real estate development, Incheon will also invite a large number of visitors for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. Despite these developments, the Songdo area of Incheon is currently unfinished and largely uninhabited, not yet a viable destination for tourists. Travelers are more likely to enjoy the bustling eastern side of Incheon which blurs into the vast expanse of Seoul.

nagoya

Day 9
nagoya
Arrival: 09:00 - Departure: 17:00
Nagoya, Japan’s fourth-largest city, blends modern industry with deep-rooted tradition. Often overlooked in favor of Tokyo or Kyoto, it rewards those who stop with spacious boulevards, excellent museums, and fewer crowds. The city is historically linked to the Tokugawa shogunate, and that legacy still shapes its character: orderly, proud, and quietly refined. Begin with Nagoya Castle, famous for its golden shachihoko (mythical tiger-fish) adorning the roof. The reconstructed main keep and the exquisitely restored Honmaru Palace showcase lavish samurai-era interiors and provide insight into feudal power and aesthetics. From there, visit the Tokugawa Art Museum, which houses armor, swords, and elegant tea ceremony utensils once owned by the ruling Tokugawa family, all set beside a beautifully landscaped Japanese garden. Nagoya’s spiritual heart lies at Atsuta Jingu, one of Shinto’s most important shrines. Surrounded by a peaceful, wooded park, it’s a calm retreat from city life and a chance to observe traditional rituals and seasonal festivals. In contrast, the Osu district buzzes with energy: a mix of old temples, vintage shops, arcades, and manga stores that encapsulate contemporary urban Japan. Food is a highlight in Nagoya, with its own distinct “Nagoya-meshi” cuisine. Try hitsumabushi (grilled eel over rice eaten in three different ways), miso katsu (pork cutlet with a rich red miso sauce), and tebasaki (crispy seasoned chicken wings). The city’s central location and excellent rail connections also make it a convenient base for day trips to places like Inuyama, Gifu, and the Japanese Alps, rounding out a stay that combines history, culture, and modern comfort.
